The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced that Sidonie Dumas, CEO of Gaumont, will be honored with this year’s International Emmy Directorate Award.

Dumas will receive the honor at the 52nd International Emmy Awards gala in New York on Nov. 25.

Paris-based television and film production Gaumont is the world’s oldest continuously operating film studio — it celebrates its 130th anniversary next year — with a library that includes such iconic titles as Jean-Luc Godard’s Bande à Part and Louis Malle’s Au Revoir les Enfants , as well as more recent blockbusters, from Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element to Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano’s Untouchable .

Dumas, who has been head of Gaumont since 2010, was a major force in shifting the company’s focus to the small screen, helping deliver global hits including Netflix’s Lupin featuring Untouchable star Omar Sy — and Narcos .

Other series greenlit under Dumas include the Hulu original Becoming Karl Lagerfeld , starring Daniel Brühl as the iconic fashion designer, and the German historical drama The Interpreter of Silence , a 2024 Critical Choice Award nominee.

Announcing Dumas as this year’s Directorate Award winner, Bruce L. Paisner, President and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts, praised her vision for the storied company.

“Sidonie Dumas has strategically and successfully pivoted Gaumont’s main business from theatrical to television with major international expansion and key deals from Europe and Latin America to Hollywood,” Paisner said. “We look forward to honoring her remarkable vision and career with our Directorate Award.”

Dumas called the International Emmy award a “great honor not only for me but also for all the teams at Gaumont who assist me every day at our offices in Europe and the United States. This prize is a tribute to our shared passion and exacting standards in telling the most wonderful stories in a variety of formats and genres.”
