Harry Styles’ Pleasing and Disney are giving a whimsical look into their Fantasia collab before it arrives this weekend.

The superstar’s lifestyle brand and the iconic animated film will release a 30-piece collection ($25 to $289) of nail polish sets, skin-care, clothing, accessories and stationery in select Disney Store locations and pop-up shops starting Sept. 28 and online on Oct. 4 at 8 a.m. PT at the disneystore.com and pleasing.com and 9 a.m. BST at disneyStore.co.uk . Ahead of the launch, the collaboration comes to life in a 3D animation spot to the tune of Paul Dukas’ “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” The video premieres exclusively at The Hollywood Reporter and will be shown at Disney’s brick-and-mortar shopping experiences. Below, watch the animation here first.

“Working with Disney gave us the chance to go to Anaheim and delve deep into their abundant archives,” Pleasing creative director Harry Lambert exclusively tells The Hollywood Reporter . “We had a very open outlook of what our dream Disney collaboration would be as the opportunities were endless, but we always had Fantasia in the back of our minds and at the very top of our list for many reasons. The beautiful and fantastical colors, the whimsical and joyful nature of the characters featured within — it all felt like the perfect match for Pleasing.”

Beauty highlights from the Pleasing x Fantasia collection include four-color nail lacquer sets, Hand + Nail Balm and a new buttercream flavor of the Big Lip HA Moisture Balm, all in packaging that showcases rare Disney sketches. Hoodies, crewnecks, button-down shirts, tees and sweatpants star Mickey as the Apprentice and other beloved characters from the segments set to Philadelphia Orchestra’s performances conducted by Leopold Stokowski, including “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” “Pastoral Symphony” and Amilcare Ponchielli’s “The Dance of the Hours.” (The classic movie is available to stream on Disney+ .)

“Even in black and white, these original sketches, now featured within our nail polish sets, have so much life and joy, and really helped inspire this entire collection,” continues Lambert. “This collaboration also allowed us to try out new techniques within our beauty offering, create new products across ready to wear and accessories, and provided the perfect visual mash up of joy and fun that will resonate with both Pleasing and Disney fans. Alongside these iconic and whimsical characters fitting in with the joyful and expressive side of Pleasing, Fantasia is so instantly recognisable for its music and this is something so important to our founder — so it felt like a special way to link these two brands.

Even if you don’t know Fantasia very well, you hear that music and feel an immediate sense of nostalgia and joy, it is so globally unique recognizable. We love to transport our community in every way, so this very special hero animation we have created together is a fun way to interject our products into the world of Fantasia , and music will also heavily feature in our exciting pop ups in Houston and Orlando.”

Adds Tasia Filippatos, president of Disney Consumer Products, We are always looking to work with creative partners who are aligned with our ambition to deliver something unique to the market. Nostalgia is an incredibly powerful touch point and this collaboration gave us the chance to interpret a classic from Disney’s archives, Fantasia , through Pleasing’s distinct lens. The goal with a collaboration like this is to capture the true essence of the original but with a new angle that delights our fans.”

The pop-up shops run from Sept. 28 to Oct. 27 and are located in Orlando, Fla. at Disney Springs (1486 E Buena Vista Dr.; open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily) and in Texas at the Houston Galleria (5115 Westheimer Rd., Suite C2555; open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 7 p.m.). Disney notes that a virtual queue may be in effect for the Orlando store.

A curated selection from collab will also be available starting Sept. 28 at the Disney Store Times Square (1540 Broadway) and Sept. 29 at the company’s London location (350-352 Oxford St.)

Fantasia debuted in 1940 with eight segments animated by Walt Disney Studios and set to classical music conducted by Stokowski, including “Rite of Spring” depicting the dinosaurs’ extinction; “Night on Bald Mountain/Ave Maria”; “Pomp and Circumstance” and others. The animated parts are introduced by music critic and composer Deems Taylor.

In 2020, Disney added a disclaimer to certain films, including Fantasia , noting that the “program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.”

Stay tuned for more on the Disney Fantasia x Pleasing collection’s online launch on Oct. 4.
