With a lengthy and absurdly impressive Hollywood resume , Lee Eisenberg is no stranger to telling a killer story. And while Emmy-nominated television series and luxury bedding may seem to be at the opposite ends of the spectrum, Eisenberg would disagree.

It began in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when the writer and producer was faced with the universally hated task of making the bed. “I just couldn’t understand how this was the accepted thing that people [do],” he tells THR of the traditional process of stuffing the duvet into its cover. “Everyone complains about it … and I started thinking, ‘Well, what if there’s a different way?'” Turns out there is. What began as Eisenberg’s quarantine idea has turned into a full-fledged bedding brand with patented technology. He created a three-sided hidden-zipper duvet cover, otherwise known as The Nuvet , to completely revolutionize the way we make our beds.
“The simplest way that I describe it is, when you have a sandwich, you don’t have two pieces of bread and then start cramming turkey and lettuce in … You put down the turkey and you know that it’s fully on top of the bread, then you put down the lettuce, then you put down the tomato and then you put the other piece of bread on top and everything is where it should be.”

When Eisenberg first began surfacing the idea, many assumed it wouldn’t go beyond just a concept. “But I’m a little bit stubborn and I really like having an idea and seeing it through,” he tells THR . “I mean that’s what I do for a living on the Hollywood side of things, and this just felt like an extension of storytelling and problem solving … This was like, ‘How do you solve bedding?'”
Eisenberg set out to change every way in which a regular duvet cover is inconvenient and counterintuitive. That’s why The Nuvet not only includes the three-sided zipper so you can quickly and effortlessly make the bed on your own, but it also has pockets to easily tuck in the corners of the duvet (instead of traditional ties) and a set of tags to indicate the bottom of the cover.

In addition to The Nuvet itself, the brand launched matching sheets and pillowcases and bedding bundles . Crafted from 100-percent Supima cotton with three colorways and two different styles, the products are every bit as luxe as they are innovative. That was of utmost importance to Eisenberg.

“Every day I’m coming up with ideas, I’m sitting with people, I’m hearing other people’s ideas, I have my own, we’re working together to kind of build something, and building a company is not dissimilar from starting with a kernel of an idea and turning that into WeCrashed or Lessons in Chemistry or Little America or Good Boys or any of the projects that I’m involved with.”
All this to say, Eisenberg is well aware that “it sounds so unlikely to go from working on The Office or Jury Duty to starting a linen company,” but to him “it doesn’t feel that strange,” he says with a laugh.
When THR asked the writer and producer for advice he’d give to someone with a “ Shark Tank idea,” he explains that it’s the same advice he’d give to someone starting out in Hollywood. “You’re going to get met with so much rejection … and you have to kind of shut out the noise and really believe in yourself and believe in what you’re doing. With some of my biggest successes in Hollywood, I believe in them … and everyone passes and then one person kind of limps in with an offer, and then all of the sudden it turns into a big thing.”
