Universal Orlando’s portals are about to open.

The NBCUniversal theme park and experiences division says that its new Epic Universe park — which it calls the “most ambitious” park it has ever created — will officially open on May 22, 2025.

The company announced the opening date Thursday morning, adding that multi-day tickets and packages will go on sale beginning Oct. 22.

Epic Universe features five distinct “worlds,” each accessible through a different portal entrance. Those worlds include some of the best known intellectual property from NBCUniversal and other companies. That includes a new Harry Potter-themed world called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter– Ministry of Magic, a How To Train Your Dragon world, Super Nintendo World, and Dark Universe, which is based on the Universal Monsters like Frankenstein and The Mummy.

“This is such a pivotal moment for our destination, and we’re thrilled to welcome guests to Epic Universe next year,” said Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort. “With the addition of this spectacular new theme park, our guests will embark on an unforgettable vacation experience with a week’s worth of thrills that will be nothing short of epic! Our Universe will never be the same.”

The company will also open its Universal Helios Grand Hotel on the same day. The new resort from Loews includes its own dedicated entrance into the Epic Universe park.

With a brand new park, Universal is initially offering a limited number of ticket packages to gain access to Epic Universe, requiring buyers to purchase three, four, or five day tickets… with one of those days being at Epic universe, and the others at its other Orlando parks: Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure.

It also launched a deal that offers some discounts if buyers purchase a seven day vacation package that includes a stay in a Universal resort.

The company is also promising “additional ticket products” in the future.
