‘Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches’ Season 2 Gets a First Look

The season two debut date and new details teasing the upcoming season of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches were revealed during the series’ New York Comic Con panel on Thursday afternoon.

As part of the event, which also featured an exclusive early screening of the season two premiere, showrunner Esta Spalding was joined on the NYCC Main Stage by Mayfair Witches ’ executive producer Mark Johnson, as well as castmembers Harry Hamlin (Cortland Mayfair), Tongayi Chirisa (Ciprien Grieve) and Alyssa Jirrels (Moira Mayfair).

Spalding kicked off the conversation, which took place directly after the premiere screening, by discussing the casting around star Jack Huston’s character Lasher, who ages over the course of the premiere. The showrunner noted that the young actors they casted “were incredible,” before explaining how the performers, meant to resemble Huston, were picked “because they were just the best, and worried about whether they look like Jack later,” Spalding said. “We wanted those performances and we got them. They were terrific, and I think it was beautiful directing as well.”

During the panel, Johnson also teased what viewers could expect for the third addition to the Immortal Universe, Anne Rice’s The Talamasca, noting that they had recently traveled from England, where the show is filming. “That is sort of a mystery. It’s almost a spy story with a hint of vampires and witches and other things associated with Anne.”

Cast and creatives of the second Anne Rice Immortal Universe entry were also on hand to reveal a premiere date of Jan. 5, 2025, on both AMC and AMC+, and offer fans some tidbits about what they can expect out of the next season. The networks also released several new photos (below).

At the end of July, as part of a San Diego Comic-Con presentation, AMC and AMC+ released a first look of the upcoming second season. The minute-long look teased Alexandra Daddario’s Ronan Fielding more fully embracing her new power and role in a family prophecy.

Season two is set to adapt Lasher , the second installment in the Mayfair Witches trilogy, which will see Rowan adapting to her unwitting role in birthing the demon Lasher. While using him to fulfill her purpose as a healer, she will fight to understand what she has become and, as tragedy strikes, protect her family.

Mayfair Witches is executive produced by Johnson, Spalding, Tom Williams, Michelle Ashford, Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice. It is produced by AMC Studios.
