CHARLOTTE, NC - Looking for some places to spend quality time with your friends or have a romantic dinner with your partners? Here are five recommended bars in Charlotte that you need to know while you are in the mood to go to the bars:

1. Barcelona Wine Bar

Barcelona currently has over 50 wine alternatives, and you can also opt for a three-tasting "wine flight". The wine menu of Barcelona is extensive, consisting of around 60% Spanish wines, South American wines in particular from Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina, with a large number from the US and other European regions. The price ranges from a high quality $700-$800 tier to more accessible $20-30 bottles.

2. The Crunkleton

The jammed Crunkleton on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings — occasionally producing waiting periods for a cocktail for 30 minutes and typically remaining busy until 2 a.m. This is the second location of the Crunkleton. The original Crunkleton, on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, received national notoriety for its drinks from Prohibition Age, most recently designated one of the Six Best Bourbon Bars in the South by the magazine Garden & Gun. The hours are from 4:00 to 2:00 Monday to Friday and from 12:00 to 2:00 on Saturday and Sunday. The actual address in Elizabeth is 1957 E. 7th St.

3. Idlewild

The charming, casual cocktail bar is located near 36th Street Station in the Novel NoDa area. They are open daily from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Instead of going to a cocktail list, you will discuss what you're in the mood for; dark or light liquor, refreshing or boozy, herbaceous, bitter, citrus fruit, etc. You will never see a drink menu printed. All handcrafted drinks are $13, but they also have glass wine from $2 PBR.

4. Pinhouse

They also include the most recent concept from Hoppin's proprietors Rich Moyer and Drew Nesemeier. Pinhouse has 72 self-pouring bowling paths — 22 below and 50 upstairs — as well as four duck paths. The former Midwood Cleaners area of 6,023 square foot situated at 2306 Central Ave., a few blocks away from the Resident Culture Road. A full-time food truck parked on-site daily by Moyer and Nesemeier's partner Chef Rob Masone of Kre8 Twisted Eats (Tuesday-Sunday). In this week's Pinhouse menu, Masone will introduce his Bosshog mac & cheese egg roll. Both Hoppin's and Wooden Robot have a permanent food truck on the patio.
