The search for 18-year-old Hannah Lynch, the final person missing after the superyacht Bayesian sank on Monday, has entered its fifth day as the yacht maker says errors were made.

Divers and underwater vehicles will continue to scour the scene as billionaire Mike Lynch’s youngest daughter remains unaccounted for after the 56-metre vessel sank in a severe storm.

The yacht maker’s CEO Giovanni Costantino told Reuters: “The boat suffered a series of indescribable, unreasonable errors, the impossible happened on that boat ... but it went down because it took on water. From where, the investigators will tell.”

The body of technology tycoon Mr Lynch and four others were brought to shore earlier this week in the fishing village of Porticello, in Sicily.

Bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy, lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife, Neda, all died in the disaster. Of the 22 passengers and crew on board, 15 - including Mr Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares - were rescued after escaping onto a lifeboat.

The boat’s chef Recaldo Thomas was confirmed dead on Monday.
