    WatchHouse Covent Garden

    $$$$Perfect For:Coffee & A Light BiteLunchCatching Up With Mates

WatchHouse is not a cafe where you go to mindlessly caffeinate. There are several outposts dotted around London—each lovely, if a little cut and paste. But the coffee is good and the Covent Garden cafe is especially handy. Its downstairs level is for breakfast power meetings on burnt orange, velvet armchairs which have an ‘I own 95% of this company’ air to them. Outside—against the backdrop of this handsome red brick building—is where to pose with a plate of tasty sweetcorn fritters while making eye contact with passing strangers until one of them realises you're the love of their life.

This is a cut above your average coffee shop. The food is good, the service is charming, and serious coffee people will be pleased by the custom brew bar and Slayer Steam LP machine. Whether you're here for a catch-up, or an hour's solitude away from the office, expect an elevated experience to Pret.
