On the fifth floor of Peckham Levels, a food hall that depending on when you visit can either feel full of life or completely soulless, is Senegalese stall Little Baobab. And its hearty, traditional Senegalese dishes with a twist have enough soul to fill the entire floor of this ex-car park. The menu feels like it was made with curing a cold in mind. Grilled chicken yassa with caramelised onion, and golden fish-filled fataya pastries all look tempting, but the lamb mafe is a must-order.

    Lamb Mafe

The peanut butter-heavy sauce is thick, nutty, and comfortingly spicy, and the lamb is slow-cooked. This stew is one of the most wholesome meals you can get in Peckham.
