Thea is from the team behind Theodora , a seafood restaurant in Fort Greene where people come for the dainty fish plates, and stay for the breads. It makes sense that they'd open a bakery. Thea is right down the block, and has a similarly minimalist interior, but an impressively lengthy menu of sweet and savory items. If you're not sure where to start, try the mango labneh maritozzi, a thick slice of tahini banana bread, and a BLT sandwich on focaccia. In the morning they have egg sandwiches and avocado toast, and after 11am there are tortas and falafel. Also grab a loaf of sourdough for later. With interesting options like a guava ricotta danish, you'll probably order way more pastries than you ever intended to, and that's going to be the best thing you do for yourself all week. Everything here is flavorful and satisfying.
