Pancake Social

For a generic breakfast when you just need something to avoid a hunger headache, this Ponce City Market spot will do—especially considering there isn’t another breakfast option within the behemoth food hall and market. The dining room is massive and most of the surfaces are white, so it feels cheery and bright, especially after your first sip of coffee. Nothing is inedible, but it’s not exactly memorable either. A breakfast sandwich with a folded egg and bacon is standard. Even the pancakes (their literal namesake) are just OK, rendering the many cutesy clocks on the wall proclaiming it to be “time for pancakes” a bit of a letdown. With $10 early bird specials (before 8am) that include a full meal and coffee, we’d eat here again if we happened to be in the area, but otherwise we’d stick to the spots on our best breakfast guide instead.
