The counter-service Indian spot is run by a couple who takes turns explaining what's in the steam trays before grabbing a small, cafeteria-like cardboard tray and filling it with your choice of four things—try the dal makhani or the palak paneer—plus rice or naan. You can get it to go, or sit in the all-green room and have a quick meal. If you can spare $2 more, get a flaky paratha, if only to test out the sign posted on the door that says “Paratha Capital of New York City.”
