Miceli's is the oldest surviving Italian restaurant in Hollywood, emphasis on surviving . With chianti bottles strung from the ceiling, ornate stained glass windows, and more wrought iron and dark wood than the Haunted Mansion, Miceli's looks like a living museum. There's even a piano player most nights. But the food is truly abysmal, even by retro-kitsch standards (though maybe it's our fault for ordering the inedible, freezer-burnt $30 veal scallopini). If you're coming to admire LA history, stick to the garlic cheese bread. And pity the poor tourist who wanders in off Hollywood Boulevard for seafood linguine.
