As rain from Tropical Storm Debby begins to fall in Savannah on Monday morning, airport officials from Savannah-Hilton Head International are expecting interruptions to travel. As of 10:30 a.m. Monday, five flights departing the airport between 11 a.m. and 4:25 p.m. have been delayed or canceled. It is likely there are more delays and cancellations to come, but at this point, it is unknown how many flights will be affected by the storm.

“Just how many and when will depend on the track of the storm and expected weather conditions,” said Lori Lynah, the director of marketing and air service development for the airport.

Additionally, Lynah said that airport discourages the general public from using airport parking for storing vehicles during inclement weather. “Our parking facilities are intended for passengers who are flying out and those picking up or dropping off passengers,” she said.
