    Tompkins County home prices, dam issues in NY and top athletes

    I'll be looking at housing prices in Tompkins County momentarily.

    Without further delay, here’s an update on home prices in the county.

    Tompkins County home listings were higher in February

    The median home in Tompkins County listed for $380,000 in February, up 7.8% from the previous month's $352,639, an analysis of data from Realtor.com shows .

    Compared to February 2023, the median home list price decreased 1% from $368,750.

    The statistics in this article only pertain to houses listed for sale in Tompkins County, not houses that were sold. Information on your local housing market, along with other useful community data, is available at data.ithacajournal.com .

    Excelling on the college fields

    Kevin Stevens' regular look at former Section 4 athletes standing out on their respective college teams includes two athletes with Ithaca-area ties. First up is Demari Johnson, a Tompkins-Cortland Community College sophomore from Johnson City who was selected to the NJCAA Region 3 Men's Basketball Championship All-Tournament Team. Jamie Lasda, an Ithaca High grad, scored five goals and added an assist in Ohio State’s 17-10 women's lacrosse victory over Butler on Saturday. Lasda leads the team with 22 goals this season.     • Donald Trump may have finally K.O.’d long-shot rival Nikki Haley's campaign in the 2024 Republican presidential primary on Super Tuesday. President Joe Biden didn't have the night off either, but he might as well have when you look at the results. Read more on Super Tuesday here .
