    Vinton County Airshow poised for liftoff

    The Bar-B-Q pit is ready and the acts are all lined up for the annual Vinton County Airshow & Chicken Bar-B-Q.

    The show will take place on Sunday, Sept. 15. The Vinton County High School Marching will start the show off at 12:30 p.m. Our Screaming Chicken Sky Diving Team will make their first jump at 1 p.m. to open the flying fun at this year’s show!

    Vinton County’s Pilots & Booster have lined up another fun show this year! The acts for this year’s show are “Tico” Rod LaCerda be flying his Black Pitts this year. Emerson Steward III with his Citabria, and Mike Hartman in his 1947 Navion will take to the air and thrill the spectators. The Booster are hoping that Brett Hunter will make this year’s show in his MXS Carbon Fiber 300.

    Other acts for the show will be Roger Barnes with his radio controlled flying lawn mower. Terry Nitsch and his RC Jet along with Mark Radlcliff and Gary Mount with their RC planes.

    Santa Clause will sky dive in to for the candy drop which is sponsored by the McArthur Eagle’s Club again this year. Most of the children who attend the show think that the Candy Drop is the highlight of the show!

    The show will start at 1:00 pm and is free but the Pilots and Boosters ask for a $10 parking donation. Please note that Airport Road off of St. Rt. 93 will close at 1 PM. Access to the Air Port during the show will be St. Rt. 328 to Air Port Road East. The Air Port is located north of McArthur, Ohio.
