The American Psychological Association (APA) and Division 31 proudly announce that Dr. Robert "Bobby" Martin has been awarded the Karl F. Heiser APA Presidential Award for Advocacy.

This award honors Dr. Martin's significant contributions to psychology and his tireless efforts in advocating for mental health policies.

Dr. Martin's work has been pivotal in the Oklahoma Psychological Association’s (OPA) successful opposition to the mandatory participation in Oklahoma’s Health Information Exchange (HIE). His advocacy ensured that psychologists are not forced to join the HIE or bear its connectivity fees, protecting the sustainability of practices across the state.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award,” said Dr. Martin. “It reflects the dedication of those who believe in protecting the practice of psychology and our patients' information.”

The award was presented at the APA Annual Convention in Seattle during Division 31’s Social Hour.
