    VA OKC houses 367 homeless veterans this year

    OKLAHOMA CITY The VA Oklahoma City Healthcare System (OKC HCS) housed 367 veterans experiencing homelessness in Oklahoma this fiscal year.



    An impressive 98.8% of these veterans have not returned to homelessness. OKC VA's Social Work Services continues outreach to unsheltered veterans, ensuring access to housing and essential services.



    Nationally, the VA surpassed its fiscal year 2024 goal, housing 43,116 veteransexceeding the target of 41,000 a month early. Of these, 96.3% have remained housed.



    Preventing and eliminating veteran homelessness is a top priority for the VA and the Biden-Harris Administration. Between 2022 and 2023, nearly 87,000 veterans were housed nationwide.



    "No person who has served this country should ever experience homelessness," said VA Secretary Denis McDonough.
