    OKCPS celebrates grand opening of Star Spencer Performing Arts Center

    OKLAHOMA CITY The Star Spencer Performing Arts Center officially reopened on Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by OKCPS leadership and Spencer community figures.

    The event featured remarks from Principal Michael Harris, Assistant Principal Rodney Cox, Rand Elliott of Rand Elliott Architects, Vice-Mayor Charmin Williams, OKCPS Board Chair Paula Lewis and OKCPS superintendent Dr. Jamie Polk.

    The newly renovated center will host a range of student performances, including band, dance, stomp and theater.

    Mike Shelton, OKCPS board member, highlighted the facility's role in fostering creativity and teamwork among students.

    “This facility represents a significant investment in our students’ futures and reaffirms our commitment to their artistic development,” Shelton said.

    The ceremony also included a tour of the updated space, showcasing its potential to become a hub of community pride and student achievement.
