Panera adds 5 new bakery sweets as part of ‘largest menu transformation.’ What to know

Panera Bread is making a few “tempting updates” to its new era menu.

Starting Aug. 21, customers can find five new treats in the bakery case alongside three new breakfast sandwiches at bakery-cafes nationwide, according to the Missouri-based restaurant chain.

The sweet additions are part of Panera’s “largest menu transformation ever,” which kicked off in April . Since then, the chain has slowly rolled out more than a dozen soup, sandwich and salad offerings.

Now, its bakery case is getting a boost.

The new treats, each priced at $3.89, include:

• Almond pastry
• Cherry pastry
• Cranberry orange cake slice (seasonal)
• Coconut macaroon
• Chocolate coconut macaroon

The fan-favorite pumpkin cookie, adorned with sweet icing, is also back for a limited time, according to the bakery chain.

Starting this week, breakfast lovers can also get their first bites of Panera’s new breakfast sandwiches, each served on a croissant.

Customers have their choice of:

• Croissant bacon, egg and cheese
• Croissant sausage, egg and cheese
• Croissant egg and cheese

Pricing information wasn’t immediately available.

The sandwiches join Panera’s lineup of breakfast favorites including bagels, avocado toast, souffles and the recently added CinnaScrambles.

“We are continuing to transform our menu in line with guest preferences and are excited to offer even more delicious reasons to visit Panera,” Alicia Mowder, senior vice president of product strategy and insight at Panera, said in the release.
