Kansas men’s basketball will meet Michigan State in the first game of a Champions Classic doubleheader at 5:30 p.m. Central on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, ESPN announced Thursday.
Kentucky will take on Duke in the second and final game of the event, set for around 8 p.m. Central following KU-MSU.
Meanwhile, tipoff for the Vegas Showdown contest between KU and Duke also was announced by ESPN on Thursday. The two blue bloods will tangle in the one-day doubleheader at 8 p.m. Central on Nov. 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. A game between Seattle and Furman will follow after KU-Duke.
Tickets for the Champions Classic will go on sale in late September, it was announced Thursday. One can sign up for pre-sale at espnevents.com/champions-classic .
This year’s Champions Classic will return to Atlanta for the first time since 2012 and will be the first Champions Classic played at State Farm Arena, home of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks.
KU is 2-2 versus Michigan State in games played at the Champions Classic. The Jayhawks are 3-1 versus Duke, 3-2 versus Kentucky for an all-time record of 8-5 at the event.
KU won the last meeting against Tom Izzo’s MSU Spartans 87-74 on Nov. 9, 2021, in New York. KU is 8-7 all time against Michigan State and 6-7 versus Duke.
