Here’s a bit of Donna Kelce news that her fans are just going to eat up.

The popular NFL mom has been tapped to host America’s most famous baking contest, the Pillsbury Bake-Off .

This is the Super Bowl for avid home bakers like Kelce.

Kelce, mother of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, will host the 52nd contest celebrating “Holiday Family Favorites.” The winner, to be announced in November, will receive $50,000.

Her co-host will be the company’s famous mascot, the Pillsbury Doughboy. Actress Eva Longoria was celebrity host for the last contest.

Football fans have come to know that Kelce loves to bake, a passion she shares with Taylor Swift, who is dating Travis and has been known to whip up sweet treats for his teammates .

The contest challenges contestants to create savory and sweet creations — entrees to snacks — using Pillsbury products like the Minneapolis company’s Grands! biscuits and pie crusts.

Donna Kelce herself created a dinner roll she serves her family at the holidays based on the recipe that won the 1969 Bake-Off, Pillsbury’s Magic Marshmallow Crescent Puffs .

Mama Kelce’s Dinner Rolls blend the crescent roll crust with cinnamon and sugar.

“There’s something so special about a recipe that stands the test of time and brings joy to the table every holiday season,” Kelce said in a statement announcing her hosting duties.

Kelce’s love of baking became nationally known when she took Travis and his brother, now-retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, homemade chocolate chip cookies when their teams faced each other in the Super Bowl.

In December, she teamed with Aramark to sell cookies made from that recipe at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas Day for the Chiefs-Raiders game. Proceeds went to the Eagles Autism Foundation and Kansas City’s Operation Breakthrough.

Any home baker worth their stand mixer has dreamed of winning the Bake-Off, which began in 1949. Over the years the contest has given the world recipes such as Cornbread Swirl Tamale Pie and Sugar Cookie Skillet Pancake .

The last year of the competition, in 2022, gave a nod to current cooking trends when it challenged contestants for the first time to submit recipes that did not require an oven. The winning recipe for Crescent Greek Nachos was made in an air fryer.

This year Pillsbury is looking for a favorite family holiday dish that takes less than 30 minutes and 10 or fewer ingredients to make.

Entries can be submitted through September 30 at Pillsbury.com , where you can also see winning recipes from each state.

Here’s a hint: Write a good story for your entry. Entries require a short personal story about why the recipe is beloved by your family.

    Maybe something like this?

“When my son’s superstar girlfriend spends a fortnight with us at the holidays, she can’t get enough of my Christmas morning breakfast pizza.”
