Donna Kelce shares breakfast restaurant recommendation for travelers to KC

Now that Jason Kelce has retired from the NFL and taken a job as an analyst for ESPN, it’s freed up his mother, Donna, to make more trips to Kansas City.

Donna Kelce was at the Chiefs’ 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens last week at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium where she cheered for her other son, tight end Travis Kelce.

In the past, Donna Kelce said s he would plan out which games she would attend each season. She would try not to play favorites between her sons.

But now, Donna Kelce can come to Kansas City for every home game if she so desires. And when in the City of Fountains, she has a favorite breakfast spot.

That’s a tidbit Kelce revealed Sunday on Instagram.

“Tip for KC travelers… stop by Hemma Hemma at 71st & Wornall for breakfast or lunch… you will love the cinnamon rolls…” she wrote.

Chef Ashley Bare told The Star last year her vision for Hemma Hemma was for it to be a coffee shop, bodega and cafeteria .

“We’re using higher-quality ingredients so we’re at a slightly higher price point,” Bare told The Star. “The idea is, we’re here to help busy people feed themselves. You can come in and pick up fresh soups, salads, sauces, proteins. Or if you’re entertaining, you can stop by and get dips, crackers, olives. You want to make tacos? We’ve got salsas and tortillas from Yoli.”

As for the name, it means “at home” in Swedish, according to Bare.

“Nothing I do really has anything to do with Sweden — it’s just a word I learned a long time ago that stuck with me,” Bare said. “But I’m delivering meals to your home, I’m making food that should feel like it was cooked at home. Pretty much everything I’m doing with Hemma Hemma, it should all feel like home.”

It seems like home for Donna Kelce when she visits Kansas City.
