    Kansas City police seek public’s help in search for missing man with dementia

    Update: Jonah has been safely located, according to police.

    Kansas City police are asking for the public’s help as they search for a missing man with dementia.

    Jonah Johnson, 62, was last seen around 9 p.m. on Sept. 2, according to the Kansas City Police Department. At the time, he was leaving his apartment in the 1800 block of East 29th Street in Kansas City.

    Johnson left home without his medication and is subject to bouts of confusion, according to KCPD, during which he does not know who or where he is. KCPD issued a Endangered Silver Advisory Alert for Johnson on Tuesday.

    Johnson is Black with black hair and brown eyes and walks with a cane and a visible limp. He stands 5’11” tall and weighs about 250 pounds and was last seen wearing a red Chiefs jersey with dark pants and blue shoes.

    The Missouri State Highway Patrol is also assisting in search efforts for Johnson.

    Residents who have seen Johnson or may have information on his location are asked to call 816-234-5043 or dial 911.
