One person has been arrested after a man who went missing in Pennsylvania was found dead.

David Kimberly was reported missing on Sept. 28, according to WPXI. The 56-year-old man was last seen after he and his wife talked about getting a divorce, after which he gathered some belongings and left his home in Plumcreek Township on Sept. 23, the station said citing a report from Pennsylvania State Police.

“I called over again , and it was the answering machine. I was like something is wrong. We’re going to do a welfare check,” David Kimberly’s brother Marc Kimberly told WTAE.

On Oct. 12, his van was found in a wooded area. Authorities said it looked as if the van had been tampered with in an attempt to hide it, KDKA reported.

The investigation led authorities to a man named Cody Weiland, 33, WPXI reported. Officials said he confessed to shooting David Kimberly then moving his body to a “remote location in Jefferson County.”

“He was a loving, caring brother. You know we had a lot of memories. I was planning on having more memories with him,” Marc Kimberly told WTAE.

Troopers recovered David Kimberly’s body, KDKA reported. Weiland was arrested and faces charges of first-degree murder, criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and false reports.

Attorney information for Weiland was not available.

Plumcreek Township is a 55-mile drive northeast of Pittsburgh.
