Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift fans freaked out on social media Monday when the couple showed up at Yankee Stadium to watch the first game of the American League Championship Series.

Ohio native Kelce was there to (unsuccessfully) cheer on the Guardians. But he wasn’t wearing a Cleveland hat. (And some fans on Reddit were none too pleased about that .)

    His hat said “Midnight Rodeo.”

And back in Kansas City, people started calling a popular local country cover band — called Midnight Rodeo .

    Is that your hat?!?!

“I sure wish it was ours,” the band’s drummer, Laura Lee Crandall, told The Star.

She said the lead singer’s phone began “blowing up” Monday night, and the calls continued Tuesday morning.

Not surprising, really, given the attention that little ol’ black hat attracted on social media from people wanting to know: What is a midnight rodeo?

The title of a new Swift song?

The guesses and Swiftie conspiracy theories flew.

Crandall said the band enjoyed a small uptick in their social media visits last week after someone sitting with Swift in an Arrowhead suite was also photographed wearing a Midnight Rodeo hat.

So here’s the story behind Kelce’s hat, which has also been seen on rapper Meek Mill’s head.

Midnight Rodeo is a New York City fashion company that started in 2020.

It’s aim “is to build a lifestyle brand through the production of garments equally covetable and well-crafted. ... Rich Western heritage and nostalgic charm are paired with the present-day sensibility to reimagine traditional staples and create impressions that speak across generations.”

Kelce apparently is a fan, because he wore one of their caps to another baseball game. He was spotted at Game 1 of last year’s World Series between the Rangers and Phillies in a trucker cap.

In that instance, Kelce was in Arlington, Texas.

The hat he wore Monday night was the brand’s “Classic Tucker” hat ($110) with the company’s logo on the front and “You’re Not Dreaming” embroidered on a side panel.

But here’s the thing: Midnight Rodeo, the band, also has a hat that is only sold at its shows. (And theirs costs only $25.)

And on Tuesday morning, the band posted this offer on its Facebook page .

“Hey Travis Kelce, how about we send you a REAL Kansas City Midnight Rodeo hat?!?”
