    County offers summer camps

    Starting in June, Monroe County Parks and Beaches will host several summer camps for children 6 to 12 throughout the Florida Keys.

    Registration is open now until 10 days before the camp start dates. Campers must be fully registered 10 days prior to the camp date. The cost is $20 per day and $10 per extra child, with additional fees for field trips. The camps include fun activities, arts and crafts, on-site or off-site field trips, interactive games and more.

    The hours of the camps are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The camps at Big Pine Key are June 3-7, June 24-28, July 22-26 and Aug. 5-9. The camp at Bernstein park on Stock Island will be from July 29 through Aug. 2. The camps at Plantation Key Community Center will June 10-11, June 13-14 and July 15-19.
