Previous boys winners this fall include Fort Campbell's John Arnold , Fort Campbell's Keshawn Dixon , Fort Campbell's Dylan McDonald , Houston County's Malaki Cary , Houston County's Preston Mitchell , West Creek's DJ Swanson , Rossview's Mick Casto , Montgomery Central's Avery Young and Kenwood's Josiah Brown .

Previous girls winners this fall include Kirkwood's Ellie Shires , Northeast's Sanaii Pearson , Fort Campbell's Amanda Kalili-Liusa , Montgomery Central's Charlsie Reynolds , Fort Campbell's Makayla Galvez , West Creek's Nicole Cushionberry , West Creek's Leilyn Mercado and Montgomery Central's Ellie Arrington .

This week's candidates are listed below:

Josiah Claybrooks, football, Kirkwood: Ran for 247 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries, and caught two passes for 10 yards, in a 40-20 win over Kenwood.

Jemareon Hillsman, football, Houston County: Ran for 73 yards and a touchdown on seven carries, and had 10 tackles on defense, in a 53-35 win at Jo Byrns.

Stephen Kpelafiya, football, West Creek: Made nine tackles in a 35-7 loss at Dickson County to tie for the team lead.

Phoenix Love, football, Northeast: Threw for 127 yards and three touchdowns in a 21-3 win over Northwest, the Eagles' first victory of the season.

Dawson Smith, football, Clarksville: Had a team-high nine tackles, one for loss, in a 17-7 win over Rossview which clinched the Region 7-6A championship. Helped the Wildcats hold the Hawks to 120 yards of offense.
