Vote: Fans make their pick for top Polk County defensive lineman for 2024 high school football

Polk County football players are jockeying for prime football position in 2024.

Training camp is here, which means fans can witness their favorite players training and developing for the new year in all facets of the game.

In 2023, this work paid dividends for the top teams in the county. Last season Lakeland won 12 games or more for the second straight season and that culminated in a second straight state title. Lake Wales also won its 12th game or more for the second straight season, which helped the team make it all the way to the Class 3S regional finals.

Many other Polk teams are model their programs off of these two powerhouses. To do this, quarterbacks, running backs and offensive line are important positions. But the defensive line can control a game and shut down an offense in key moments.
