Undefeated Armwood will travel to Plant for both squads district opener on Friday night.

Armwood has been light-out on both sides of the ball, especially the defense, which is led by a high-level linebacker core with UCF commit Cameron White and three-star Kellen Wiley. Plant, which has plenty of high-level talent of their own, is looking for a bounce-back night after dropping close games to Tampa Bay tech and Sumner.

Armwood is ranked No. 5 overall in the state and No. 1 in Class 6A, while Plant is unranked in Class 6A.

State Ranking: No. 5 in the USA Today Florida Network Super 25 and No. 1 in Class 6A

Armwood is firing on all cylinders on both sides of the ball, having allowed just seven points while hanging 84 points in wins over Durant and Hillsborough. Miami commit Girard Pringle Jr. tallied 148 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 13 touches in a 49-7 win over Hillsborough, while Georgia commit Tyler Williams had a touchdown catch and 124 receiving yards on just four catches.

State Ranking: Unranked in Class 6A

Plant is looking to make a statement against Armwood after falling in back-to-back one score games against Tampa Bay Tech and Sumner. Running back Waltez Clark (Florida commit) was held to just 20 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries with a lost fumble against Sumner, and wide receiver Max Hunt (Pitt commit) had just one catch for a loss of three yards.
