Live updates: Week 6 high school football results from Polk County here

Concerns about Hurricane Helene forced the juggling off the high school football schedule around the state, including Polk County, with some teams getting their games in on either Tuesday or Saturday. For Polk County, more than half the games are being played tonight.

Most games would have had to be made up if they couldn't be played on Monday as this was a big week for district matchups. In games already played, Lakeland won its first 5A-6 district game over Lake Gibson , while Kathleen, Auburndale and Lakeland Christian all lost district matchups.

Two of the biggest district games games are in 7A as Ridge Community plays at George Jenkins, and Winter Haven plays at Haines City. Ridge is ranked highest ranked Polk team in District 6.
