    Girls golf: St. Marys claims WBL title

    OTTAWA — St. Marys shot 407 as a team to claim first place in the WBL girls golf tournament at Pike Run Golf Club near Ottawa on Tuesday.

    Lilleigh Sampson (98) and Kallie McKinley (99) led the way for the Roughriders, who also claimed the top spot in the final Western Buckeye League standings following the victory.

    Defiance (419), Wapakoneta (433), Celina (455) and Shawnee (458) rounded out the top five teams at the tournament.

    Defiance (13.5), Celina (11.5), Wapakoneta (10.5) and Shawnee (8.5) completed the top five in the final conference standings.

    The top individual performance on the day came from Ava Hesselschwardt of Defiance who shot a 76 to set a WBL tournament record.
