LIMA — A public hearing allowing consumers to express their opinions and concerns to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio is set for 6 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 23 at the Auditorium in Lima Senior High School.

Enbridge Gas Ohio, formerly known as Dominion Energy, is asking the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio for a 30% hike in what it charges customers for natural gas distribution service.

If approved, the increase would cost a typical residential consumer more than $100 per year and as much as $30 per month by 2032.

The Ohio Consumers’ Counsel is calling for a $294 million rate decrease, a 32% reduction in consumers’ distribution bills, and a reduction in monthly service charges and add-ons.

The PUKEO will rubber stamp this with no problem. They are all in on rate increases, along with their bank accounts.
