An Editorial Opinion of The Luverne Journal

Faith families are an important part of our communities, providing services and support when needed and also offering an outlet for fellowship, service, education and counseling.

The Luverne Journal is looking to partner with the faith community to help spread the word about all that is happening in our local churches.

Many local residents find much-needed love and encouragement within the faith family and for many, the simple hug or listening ear they receive can brighten even the darkest day.

Our reporters strive to highlight faith family activities and afterwards often hear people comment, “I wish I had known about the event; I would have attended if I had.”

We are asking the community’s hel9 to create a “Faith Family News” calendar. Separate from the existing “Local Briefs” announcements, this addition will include local events and happenings throughout the Crenshaw County faith community.

Please submit your upcoming or reoccurring faith news and events by Monday for publishing in the next upcoming issue. We ask that you email submissions to news@luvernejournal.com and include all relevant information including the date, time, location and who to contact with questions.

Faith Family News will publish online and in print each week. We look forward to helping you promote activities within the faith community and hope you will partner with us in sharing all that’s happening in Crenshaw County churches.

All working together sounds like the perfect plan. What difference does it make to change the name of the page from “ local briefs “ or “ Faith Family?” It makes no difference what the heading is called only certain ones will attend certain events which are almost nonexistent in the “Friendliest City.” When events were being held for “ all “ in the community , very few if any of the City Council attended, nor did The Chamber, The Economic Development Board, the big businesses in the community. What was the problem? The event needed to be on another page to be known about? No the problem is the idea/ event wasn’t done by “ one of them. “ they won’t and don’t support the efforts of others._-_-They attend church ,and immediately they are out gossiping, making rude comments about others is this the Christian way? Hardly! Before a new page a new positive attitude , sincere, caring , accepting, all inclusive approach is needed.
