The 50th annual International Seaplane Fly-In starts today, Thursday, September 5th, and runs through Sunday, September 8th, at Moosehead Lake. Every year the fly-in has hundreds of seaplanes that fly in to participate from all over the United States, along with thousands of visitors coming to see the planes. The visitors to the fly-in are not just from Maine but also from all around the United States. In addition to viewing the seaplanes, there are activities during the four fly-in days.

Violators of Wildlife Protection Closure Identified at Acadia National Park in Maine
Park Rangers at Acadia National Park in Maine received a report and photos of two males and one female hiking up Precipice Trail at 11:06 a.m. on July 24, 2024. The trail was marked as being off-limits to hikers because of the nesting peregrine falcons. The trail is closed every year for several months to protect the peregrine falcons. Acadia says most of the east face of Champlain Mountain, including the entirety of the Precipice Trail, is closed for several months every year to support the protection of peregrine falcons, their nesting sites, and surrounding habitat. Peregrine falcons are a federally protected species under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (16 U.S.C. §§703–712).
Rockland, Maine Police Looking for Stolen Honda Accord
The Rockland, Maine, Police Department is asking for the public's help in attempting to locate a stolen vehicle. The vehicle is a 2007 4-door silver-colored Honda Accord. The car has damage, and silver tape on the passenger side of the front bumper and was last seen with Maine plates 7823 YK.
