Maine Police Departments Join National Night Out

Tuesday, August 6, 2024, is National Night Out, which takes place every year on the first Tuesday in August. The event's goal is to strengthen the partnership between the police and the local community.

Several police departments in Maine will be participating in National Night Out and will be offering family-friendly and fun events on Tuesday evening. Here are some of the Maine police departments that are participating:

Auburn:

The Auburn Police Department will be celebrating National Night Out on August 6, 2024, at Festival Plaza on Main Street from 5:30 p.m. to dusk. Come and enjoy live music, games, free hot dogs and lemonade, meet Brick the K9, and more!

Bangor:

Join the Bangor Police Department, the Bangor Fire Department, the Bangor band, and a host of Bangor businesses at the 30th annual Chapin Park Block Party, which will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be music, food, and fun in the park, and the Bangor Police will be giving out junior officer badge stickers.

Biddeford:

The Biddeford Police Department will be hosting National Night Out at Mechanics Park from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be a touch-a-truck event, games, free food, and displays by local non-profits, and Officer Prior will give a demonstration with K9 dog Logan.

Brunswick:

The Brunswick Police Department will celebrate National Night Out on August 6, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brunswick Rec Center, 220 Neptune Drive. Lifeflight of Maine will be flying in for a visit. Come see the helicopter and meet the paramedics on Lifeflight of Maine. Maine Search and Rescue Dogs will be there, showing off their skills. You can also meet K9 Jack and K9 Brock and CMP will have a live line demonstration.

Lewiston:

The Lewiston Police Department will celebrate National Night Out with activities starting at 6:00 p.m. The Disney movie Wish will start at 7:30 p.m. at Lewiston Middle School. There will also be free hot dogs.

Old Town:

Old Town Police Department, will celebrate National Night Out on August 6, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at Main Street Park. There will be yard games, a bounce house, a touch-a-truck, gift card giveaways, a free barbecue, and a movie at 8:00 p.m.

Portland:

The Portland Police Department is hosting a National Night Out at Fox Field Futsal Courts from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
