In the history of River Valley football rivalry, Buckeye Valley ranks fifth on its list of all-time opponents with 34 meetings since the playoff era started in 1972, according to the Ohio High School Football Database website. When the Barons left the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference after the 2018 season, they left behind the Vikings, too. The two met during the messed-up COVID-19 season of 2020 as a late-season add-on, and they will do it again this year when RV goes to BV. The Vikings hold a 21-13 edge in the series.
