Who'd they pick? Media predicts MOAC, KMAC football standings for 2024

The media is betting on repeats when it comes to this high school football season in the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference and the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference.
In preseason balloting conducted by the Mansfield News Journal's Jake Furr and including a swath of media members representing north central Ohio outlets, Shelby and Ontario are virtually tied atop the standings in the MOAC, while Danville is the pick in the KMAC.
Shelby and Ontario tied for last year's MOAC title, and each of them return dynamic quarterbacks in Brayden DeVito for the Whippets and Ohio State-bound Bodpegn Miller for the Warriors. In the preseason poll, both received eight first-place votes as Shelby edged them in points 66-74 to take the top spot.
Pleasant received three first-place votes and was picked third with 106 points. The Spartans were followed in fourth place by Galion with 146 points. Rounding out the MOAC were River Valley with 171, Marion Harding with 198, Clear Fork with 231 and Highland with 245.
In the KMAC, Danville, which went 13-1 overall and won the league with an undefeated mark, received 15 first-place votes and 53 points. Picked as runners-up were the Golden Knights of Northmor with three first-place votes and 71 points. East Knox was the prohibitive choice at No. 3 with 99 points.
Following the top three were Centerburg with 139, Fredericktown with 143, Loudonville with 198, Mount Gilead with 214 and Cardington with 253.
