Sudbury man, 58, was trapped in his vehicle after rollover crash on Route 20

SUDBURY — Authorities say they believe a medical incident may have caused a rollover Thursday on Boston Post Road.

No one was injured in the 3:20 p.m. crash, but a 58-year-old Sudbury man was transported to a local hospital after the incident due to the possible medical issue, police spokesman Lt. John Perodeau said.

"There was no indication he did anything wrong and we're investigating if there was a medical (issue) prior to the incident," Perodeau told the Daily News.

The crash occurred near 303 Boston Post Road (Route 20). Police received several 911 calls reporting a rollover.

Upon arrival, police found an Acura SUV on its roof.

"The individual wasn't injured," said Perodeau. "It (the vehicle) was just on its roof, and he was having trouble getting out of his vehicle."

The Sudbury Fire Department assisted in helping the man out, then took him to the hospital.

Police initially believed the incident involved just one vehicle, but later discovered the Acura had sideswiped a Honda Accord driven by a 35-year-old Worcester woman just prior to the crash. The woman was uninjured, Perodeau said.

The crash scene forced the road to be closed for about an hour.

The incident remains under investigation. No one has been cited.
