    MIAA fall 2024 power rankings for football, soccer, volleyball and field hockey

    Let the debates begin. The MIAA released its initial round of power rankings for the fall 2024 season Friday, providing the first clear look at the shape of the season so far.

    The top 16 football teams in each division with at least three wins will qualify for the state tournament ( for now ). The top 32 teams in each division for all other sports automatically qualify. Any teams above .500 but ranked 33 or below will also reach the state tournament but play a preliminary-round game to start.

    There are five MetroWest and Milford-area teams atop the rankings at first glance: Millis football (Division 8), defending state champion Natick girls soccer (Division 1), two-time state champion Westborough girls volleyball (Division 2), returning state finalist Bellingham girls volleyball (Division 4) and Lincoln-Sudbury field hockey (Division 1).
