More like Thursday Night Lights. Of the 19 are high school football games scheduled for Week 5 , 11 will kick off Thursday to get ahead of the holiday weekend . There's still a scintillating slate of seven contests for the traditionalists Friday and a matinee matchup Saturday afternoon.
Just two local undefeated teams are left after Medway fell to Westwood last week : Hudson rolling along at 5-0 and Millis at 4-0 .
Three games pit two area teams against each other Thursday, and two involve Tri-Valley League squads. Bellingham visits Medway, while Millis is at Dover-Sherborn. Wayland will make the short trip to Lincoln-Sudbury.
Here are eight games to watch in Week 5 spread across the whole weekend:
Medway (3-1) at Bellingham (1-3), 6 p.m. Thursday
The Blackhawks are in desperate need of a victory after losing three games in a row. The Mustangs stumbled for the first time this season last week but are in a full resurgence. Medway moved into playoff position in Division 5, while a win would go a long way for the Blackhawks in Division 6.
Millis (4-0) at Dover-Sherborn (1-3), 6:30 p.m. Thursday
Millis dropped down from the top spot in Division 8 despite picking up its sixth consecutive win dating back to last season. The team's offense ratcheted into high gear last weekend against David Prouty, while its defense is allowing 9.25 points per game. The Raiders have dropped three in a row and given up at least 30 points in every game.
Wayland (3-1) at Lincoln-Sudbury (1-3), 6:30 p.m. Thursday
The battle of the Warriors has gone L-S' way the last three years. Wayland hasn't won since 2019 (the teams did not meet in 2020), but this may be the year their fortunes shift behind Bucknell commit Max Dresens and an offense that has scored more than 30 points in three of four games. L-S has played one of the state's tougher schedules, however, lining up against Methuen, Needham and Foxborough already, so it won't be overwhelmed.

Franklin (3-1) at Taunton (2-3), 7 p.m. Friday
Welcome to the Hockomock League, Todd Kiley . Franklin and its first-year head coach will open league schedule on the road riding a three-game winning streak following a bye week. The former Franklin coach/AD Brad Sidwell-led Tigers, meanwhile, have lost two straight after a tough trip to Everett. Both teams are playoff-caliber Division 1 squads.
Hudson (5-0) at Oakmont (3-1), 7 p.m. Friday
Can anyone or anything stop the Hawks? They set a school record for points scored last week against Maynard behind Jake Attaway's eight touchdowns . Hudson has scored at least 40 points in four of their five wins and are the No. 2 team in Division 6. Oakmont is at No. 18, just outside the playoff picture despite opening the season with three wins in the first four weeks. The Spartans will be fresh off a bye.

Attleboro (2-2) at Milford (2-2), 7 p.m.
The Scarlet Hawks are finally beginning Hockomock play after a gauntlet of a non-league schedule that featured two Division 1 teams, a Division 2playoff qualifier and one of its fellow returning Division 3 Final Four squads. Milford's offense has only produced seven points in each of the past two games after hanging 35 in the opening two games. The Bombardiers are 1-0 in the Hock after shutting out Sharon last week.
Blackstone-Millville/Hopedale (1-3) at Saint Paul (3-1), 7:30 p.m. Friday
The venue will shine as much as the play on the field, as the teams are squaring off at Assumption university's Rocheleau Baseball Field in Worcester. The Knights have won their three games by a combined 12 points, so expect a close showdown with the Chargers. BMR/Hopedale has dropped two games in a row and scored just seven in each.

Millbury (4-0) at Blackstone Valley Tech (3-1), 1 p.m. Saturday
The Woolies have been tough to contain. They scored at least 40 points per game in their first three contests before a tight win over Northbridge last week. Millbury, the No. 4 team in Division 7, is allowing just nine points per game. The Beavers, No. 9 in Division 5, have rebounded with two straight wins after a tough loss against Uxbridge. They're scoring more than 30 points per game.
