    Which MetroWest and Milford golfers qualified for the 2024 state championships?

    The best golfers in the state will play for a championship Monday, October 21. They qualified through their performances in the sectional tournaments.

    Each section will qualify at least two teams for the state tournament. Sectionals with seven to 14 participating teams will send three teams, and those with 15 or more participants will qualify four.

    The top 10 percent of individuals plus ties will advance to the state tournament if their teams do not qualify.

    Division 1 will be played at The Haven Country Club in Boylston, while Division 2 is at Berkshire Hills Country Club (Pittsfield) and Division 3 is hosted by Foxborough Country Club. All will tee off at 10 a.m.

    Division 1

    Teams

    Wellesley

    The Raiders couldn’t r epeat as D1 South champions but will return to the state tournament after placing second at Achusnet River Valley Golf Cours with a 20-over 237. That was eight strokes back of Xaverian, which claimed the sectional trophy. Wellesley’s James Berger tied for second with a 2-over 74.

    Individuals

    Aidan D'Costa, Framingham

    He shot a 76 to tie for seventh at the Central sectional and advance.

    Liam Dunn, Algonquin

    He was the Division 1 Central medalis t with an even-par 72 at Pleasant Valley Country Club.

    Parker Winn, Hopkinton

    The defending sectional medalist tied for seventh with a 4-over-76 at Pleasant Valley Country Club in the Central sectional tournament.

    Division 2

    Teams

    Blackstone Valley Tech

    Led by i ndividual medalist Charlie Leighton, the Beavers shot +31 as a team to finish third in the Central tournament at Marlborough Country Club.

    Matt Brennan, Dover-Sherborn

    He carded a 5-over 76 to tie for fifth at the Division 2 Central Championships in Marlborough.

    Division 3

    Individuals

    Chuck Hammel, AMSA

    His 10-over 82 tied him for sixth in the Central sectional at Kettle Brook.

    Colin Haynes, Hopedale

    He tied for third in the Central sectional at Kettle Brook with a 7-over 79.

    Noah Hill, AMSA

    He shot an 83 to tie for ninth at +11 in the Central sectional tournament at Kettle Brook.

    Tucker Patricks, Assabet Valley

    He shot an 82 to tie for sixth at the Central tournament.
