Prince Harry is reportedly optimistic about mending fences with Prince William and Princess Kate , but he's working on a timeline, as per reports.

Harry has allegedly reached out to his estranged sister-in-law after her recent Wimbledon appearance. He is "convinced" that the present moment is ideal for attempting to mend his familial relationships.

"Even though it's an awkward situation for all of them, they both think the sooner they can put this all behind them, the better," an insider revealed to Heat magazine, further stating: "Harry can't believe it ever got to this point he genuinely thought that by now they'd have found a way to reconcile and he hates to think of it continuing."

An insider has also revealed that Prince Harry is hopeful of mending fences before his 40th birthday in September. Despite being "willing to accept" the possibility of never being close to his family again, he hasn't given up on a reunion.

However, it seems Harry might have a tough road ahead. His brother William has reportedly decided to sever all ties with him completely, reports the Mirror .

The BBC's former Royal correspondent Jennie Bond told Times Radio: "I think as far as William is concerned, Harry really doesn't exist. William has enough pressure on his heart and his head, with his wife [Princess of Wales] and her ongoing cancer treatment, and his father [King Charles], his job and his kids that I don't think he's got any room in his soul to worry about his estranged brother... I think William has disowned Harry."

Harry lashed out at his brother in his Netflix docuseries, further detailing their fractured relationship in his memoir, Spare. In the book, Harry accused William of physically assaulting him during one heated argument.

Now, Royal author Tom Quinn has warned that the relationship between Harry and William could be irreparable.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror US, he revealed: "Having their own families means the brothers no longer need each other as they did after the death of their mother. Emotional support comes now from their partners, partners untainted by dysfunctional royal childhoods."

Harry and William's bond was strengthened following the tragic death of their mother, Princess Diana, in a car crash in Paris in August 1997.

Quinn further commented: "Yet even while complaining about his position as the spare, Harry won't take the lead in trying to reconcile with his brother. He still expects William to make the first move in any attempt to reconcile. William is so annoyed with Harry's complaints and attacks on the royals that he has completely shut down and has no intention of extending the hand of friendship in case it gets bitten off."

Prince Harry last visited the UK for the Invictus Games' 10th anniversary in May but didn't meet any members of the Royal family, including his father, King Charles. The last time the father-son duo were together was in February when Harry flew to London following King Charles's cancer announcement.

However, their meeting at Clarence House lasted just 45-minutes.
