Rachel thought the names she chose for her babies were normal, until other people started commenting on them. TikToker Rachel Clenaghan recently posted a video discussing how she didn’t realize her babies’ names were controversial. She shared that every time she tells people the names , she always gets comments, with some people unable to pronounce them.

When it comes to her son, they have a nickname for him. Depending on how old the person asking is, she will tell them his nickname or real name.

The son’s name is Paul, which is the name of his father and grandfather as well. Some people react by calling his name old-fashioned. When she’s confronted by an older person, she tells them Paul. They usually respond saying they haven’t heard that name in ages.

When the person is younger, she tells them his nickname, which is Junior.

For her daughter, young people normally love her name. Older people, however, have a hard time pronouncing it.

Her daughter’s name is Romy. Most older people try to pronounce it “Rumi” or Romai.”

In the TikTok comments, people were surprised that people find these names unusual.

One said: “I genuinely am so confused why anyone would think Paul is unusual. Like Paul is one of the most normal boys name ever :) and Romy isn’t wild either … I was expecting crazy names to be said.”

“Are Paul and Romy unique? I’m surprised anyone has any opinion at all about their names, they are so normal.”

One shared their funny name mix up, saying: “My youngest is Enzo and when I had him my nan was telling people I’d called him Zorro.”
