Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has mocked owner Jerry Jones as he awaits a major contract extension .

Lamb is entering the final year of his Cowboys rookie contract and is yet to report to training camp, just like San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Unlike the Niners who are seeking a resolution with Aiyuk, Cowboys owner Jones boldly stated that there is "no urgency" to get a deal done.

Jones' admission was posted on X by The Athletic's Jon Machota, and it was seen by Lamb. In a cold, and clear statement issued back at the Cowboys owner, Lamb reposted it on his X account and wrote "Lol."

Lamb has also removed "America's Team" from his social media bio, suggesting that he could be finished with the Cowboys if he doesn't receive the contract offer he's expecting. Despite Lamb's actions, Jones doesn't seem threatened and expects to have Lamb available next season.

"Well, I don't expect to not have CeeDee Lamb," Jones said Thursday after the joint practice with the Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams. "This camp has given times, opportunities -- target opportunities -- and not just route running."

"The kinds of things that the full body of work for a receiver, but it gets a lot of target opportunities for people who need it most. That's the ones that aren't proven like CeeDee. It's a great plan to see your receiving core and develop a receiving core from the rookies."

Lamb has missed the first three weeks of training camp, but Jones is confident a deal will be done before Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season. His lack of urgency isn't shared with Lamb, who is keen to sort a new deal as soon as possible.

"I went to high school, and I went to college. I don't know why I said it, but I'm just saying I don't have a sense of urgency about getting it done," Jones added. Star edge rusher Micah Parsons is also eligible for an extension as he enters his fourth year in the NFL, and retweeted Lamb's reaction.

One man who is pushing for some urgency is Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who said: "I got urgency for it to happen." Prescott then promoted his star receiver, suggesting it would only take "one or two" practices for them to get back on the same page ahead of next season.

Lamb enjoyed the best season of his career in 2023, recording 1,749 yards off 135 receptions for 12 touchdowns. All were career highs, and he even posted his best-rushing stats to date, showing his versatility in the offense. Lamb rushed for 113 yards off 12 carries, scoring two touchdowns.
