The 33-year-old was taken into custody on Friday, August 9 at the George V Hotel in Paris. Reports suggest a fight broke out between the pair in the early hours of Friday, with Valeurs claiming the rapper was drunk.

Speaking to People magazine , a source said that there are no expectations for charges to be brought against him in the future, and that the altercation resulted in no injuries. Paris prosecutors also told TMZ the case has been dismissed because the crime was "insufficiently characterized".

Reports suggest that Scott had an altercation with a security guard who was attempting to defuse a fight between him and his bodyguard. French authorities have issued a statement about the incident.

It read: "I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, shortly after 5 a.m., the police were called to the Georges V Hotel and arrested the man nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard. The latter had himself intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard. The 1st judicial police district was seized of the investigation by the Paris prosecutor's office."

This incident comes after Travis was seen at the Team USA basketball semi-final against Serbia at the Bercy Arena during the Paris 2024 Olympics on Thursday. The incident involving Travis and the police was caught on camera and subsequently released by TMZ.

The footage shows Travis being restrained by officers inside a hotel before being escorted into a police vehicle. Earlier in the week, news broke that Travis had a previous charge of disorderly intoxication dropped. This charge stemmed from an altercation on a yacht in Miami back in June.

However, he still faces a trespassing charge. Following the Miami incident, Travis was detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Centre for causing a "disturbance" on a charter boat.

According to the Miami Beach Police Department, he was "drunk causing a disturbance and asked to leave multiple times." After refusing to depart from the charter boat, Travis was taken into custody, and his mugshot was circulated by the Miami Dade Corrections facility.

At the hearing, which the music artist did not attend, it was confirmed that the state of Florida is expected to proceed with the misdemeanour trespassing charge. The rapper is scheduled for trial on September 10. This incident follows his alleged involvement in a brawl with Kylie Jenner's ex-boyfriend Tyga's friend at a Cannes party.
