    YouTube star Joey Graceffa diagnosed with skin cancer after initially missing the symptoms

    YouTube personality Joey Graceffa recently took to TikTok to share with his almost half-a-million followers he has been diagnosed with cancer .

    The ex- Amazing Race contestant, who first gained popularity as a vlogger, talked about his health struggles in an almost four-minute-long video. Joey was very transparent with his fans as he said: "So, I have skin cancer."

    Joey received a basal cell carcinoma diagnosis after a red mark remained on his nose for two years. In the clip, the internet star revealed that he received a biopsy and was “now exploring how to take care of it."

    Despite his health being impacted, he expressed that he was handling it calmly. "I'm not freaking out like maybe I should be. I don't know. I'm being very level-headed about this, I think because it's a more treatable type of skin cancer," he said.

    Initially, Joey disclosed that the two dermatologists he visited told him it was a broken blood vessel, but after he noticed it was scabbing up, he went back. When he did, they suggested he get a biopsy, which ended up showing cancer.

    "I literally passed out in the chair when the biopsy happened. Not because it hurt or anything, but because I am so queasy when it comes to gore or anything blood-related," he said. "I have a very vivid imagination and I was just imagining what it looked like and I passed out."

    He recalled: "When I woke up, they had a Capri Sun and gummy bears for me.” Although doctors told him that Mohs surgery was an option for him, informing the online personality that it would only take about 45 minutes, he’s looking into an alternative solution. In addition to considering natural remedies like castor oil, aloe vera, and bloodroot, he’s also thinking about a special form of radiation that treats the cancer.

    Joey has seemed to be going on with his life as usual, not letting his diagnosis stop his grind. Several have his fans have left him supportive comments as they rally behind him.

    “Sending love to you baby,” one commented under his TikTok. Meanwhile, another added: “Oh Joey I’m so sorry…sending you love and prayers.” Joey has countless supporters, which picked up even more when he interviewed fellow YouTuber Rosanna Pansino.
