Harry Kane made a respectful gesture by choosing not to lift a pre-season trophy after his team, Bayern Munich, claimed victory against Tottenham. The star player was back in the English capital for a pre-season friendly at the stadium he once called home.

Despite being one of Tottenham's greatest-ever players, Kane left last summer to join the German giants in pursuit of his trophy ambitions. Unfortunately, his first year with Bayern was marked by a rare lack of silverware.

However, during a glamorous pre-season event known as the Visit Malta Cup, the Bundesliga side emerged victorious with a 3-2 win. Despite this, Kane chose not to step forward and lift the trophy.

The forward was seen discussing with his teammates as he passed on the captain's armband to avoid lifting the silverware after making an appearance off the bench. Kane had played in numerous finals for Tottenham but was unable to end their trophy drought dating back to 2008.

His departure from the north London outfit proved profitable for them despite losing two Carabao Cup finals and a Champions League final during his tenure. Before the match, another former Tottenham player, Eric Dier, joined Kane in receiving a special commemorative gift from ex-player Ledley King.

Dejan Kulusevski scored in the opening minute for the Premier League outfit before the Germans responded with three unanswered goals. Dayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry, and Thomas Muller each scored before Kulusevski triggered an intense finale with his goal. However, it wasn't enough as Kanes Bayern Munich triumphed, gearing up to reclaim their Bundesliga crown.

There had been a buzz about Kane's switch to Munich, but ultimately he missed out on all potential trophies. Bayer Leverkusen managed to shock Bayern and take the German title, while Bayern stumbled early in the German Cup and suffered a defeat in the Champions League semi-finals.

Despite another loss in the Euro final this summer, the English footballer is hungrier than ever for victory. He asserted: "The season as a whole didn't go the way I wanted it to or the team wanted it to. I think whenever you have a tough loss or go out in a competition like that, for sure, there is a real hunger and desire that burns inside to make sure that the next time you get there or the next big competition, you have a different outcome. That's the way I always look at it."
