Unfortunately, they lost against Netherlands in a bronze medal game with an 11-10. This is the first time the US team has not been on the podium since women's polo made its Olympics debut in 2000. On August 10, the Let It Show artist took to X formerly Twitter after the loss to commend the team for their efforts and hinted they are coming for the gold in the Los Angeles Summer Olympics in 2028.

He wrote: "I love my girls,,, and imma so proud of them. We introduced Water Polo to a new audience and we just getting started,,, We headed to LA28."

Someone responded to his sweet with, "This is true, the Olympics should pay you," to which Flavor Flav tweeted back: "They should pay the athletes,,, not me"

The 65-year-old has been advocating not only for the women's polo team but for other Olympians such as U.S. discus thrower Veronica Farley. On X, she posted about not being able to afford to pay her rent even as she was about to compete at the Olympics on August 1: "I compete in the Olympic Games TOMORROW and can’t even pay my rent. My school only sent about 75% of my rent while they pay football players (who haven’t won anything) enough to buy new cars and houses."

The tweet attracted the attention of Flav and Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian. Flav first responded to her message for her to DM and he would send her a payment covering her financial troubles.

He shared a screenshot of Veronica's CashApp, not disclosing the amount, he wrote: "Man of word...and Imma try and come by and support you in person tomorrow. LMK what time"

He followed up in response to someone praising him to say: "Man of my word!!! This is what I been saying and promoting with water polo...I can’t fix everything on my own...but right now I am."

Alexis joined the thread and said "C'mon now! I'll split it with Flavor Flav," and he tweeted Veronica to DM him her $cashtag and then he updated when he had done it with a screenshot of a $7,760. payment to the college student.
