Just four years ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped the bombshell news that they were ditching their Royal roles in the UK for a fresh start stateside.

They craved "privacy" and "space" to bring up baby Archie, yet their exit's been dogged by a very public Royal family rift. Now, in an eyebrow-lifting twist, they're back in the limelight, plotting a Colombian tour later this year.

It's round two of non-royal roadshows for them, hot on the heels of their hit three-day Nigerian jaunt in May, sparked by Meghan's own Nigerian heritage reveal. But whispers are swirling that these jaunts aren't doing Britain any favors and might just ruffle feathers at Buckingham Palace even more.

While they're keeping the full tour deets under wraps as they hang with Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, it's out that Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will hit Bogota and Colombia's coasts, all thanks to an invite from VP and equality champ Francia Marquez.

Meghan has reportedly shared her eagerness for them to "experience the rich heritage" of Colombia and to "further illuminate Colombia's role as a beacon of culture and innovation," as per OK! magazine.

Yet, there are safety concerns about their visit due to Colombia's notorious crime rates, terrorism threats, civil unrest, and kidnapping risks. The UK Foreign Office warns against visiting certain Colombian regions, while the US suggests travelers reconsider their plans.

Despite these warnings, it is believed that Harry, 39, and Meghan, 43, will receive full security protection throughout their trip. This move is somewhat surprising, particularly given Harry's previous hesitance to return to the UK with Meghan over security fears.

Amidst the critical headlines, an insider has spoken out about the Sussexes' enthusiasm for their upcoming journey. For Meghan, this trip is seen as a step towards altering her negative public image.

The tour presents her with a chance to showcase her capabilities on a global stage, engaging in the philanthropic work she is passionate about. "Meghan sees this Columbia tour as her chance to prove to the world what a big star she is and how much the Royal Family misses her," the source revealed. to OK!

"She knows how much she can turn it on and doing events like this was the one thing about royal life that appealed to her. She was furious when that was taken away because she knows she's such an asset.

"She feels her and Harry together really shine when meeting dignitaries and locals, and it helps with the brand and their plan to be the alternative Royal Family. Meghan knows that nobody in the Royal Family can put on a show like her and Harry," an insider spilled

"When they left, they asked that they could still represent the family on tours but were told no, so she feels it's the ultimate revenge as they were both so upset when they were rejected," the source believes.

In the wake of recent challenges faced by the royals, including the absence of key figures King Charles and the Princess of Wales due to cancer treatments, the Sussexes seem to have filled the void, ready to make headlines again with their tour. The excitement may reach new heights if the Sussexes decide to bring their children along, which seems increasingly likely.

The Duke and Duchess are gearing up for an important tour of Colombia, where they will engage with "leaders, youth, and women" and take part in conversations about "cyberbullying, online exploitation and the mental health impacts of these threats," topics that The Archewell Foundation, led by the couple, fervently champions.

Their Royal Highnesses are deep into their Colombian jaunt, which is just a snippet of their jam-packed agenda. Meghan is on the verge of launching her passion project, American Riviera Orchard home and lifestyle brand line which neatly ties in with a Netflix documentary rumored to be synced with the launch of the new brand.

Further ramping up their array of endeavors, Meghan and Harry have graced television screens once more on CBS for their first shared interview in over a trio of years, revealing their latest project The Parents Network. This program aims to support parents in shielding kids from the harmful impacts of social media.

In an intimate exchange with Jane Pauley, Meghan opened up about her own mental health struggles, sharing, "I think when you've been through any level of pain or trauma," and acknowledging, "I believe part of our healing journey, certainly part of mine, is being able to be really open about it."

Thinking back, she offered more insight: "And I haven't really scraped the surface on my experience but I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way."

After enduring a tumultuous period post-royal life with hurdles settling in the U.S. and facing constant negative media attention, Meghan is looking to flip the script. This tour is seen as a chance for her to wrap up the year on a high note.

"At the moment, the Royal Family is lacking representatives and she knows they'll all be watching on to see how they handle it and what reception they get. Meghan wants to be seen as so much more than a Hollywood celebrity - and feels doing tours elevates her," said the insider.
